The Experience

Last Thursday, 3rd October we celebrated our final anniversary before we embark on a new journey of 2-becoming-1. And so Joel was asking me, "once we get married, which anniversary do we celebrate?" Lol! I haven't really thought of it really. But all reasons for celebration are always welcome, love! :)

Anyway Joel had arranged a very lovely dinner at this restaurant at Changkat called Dining in The Dark. Was indeed a very interesting experience. We were guided to our seat in total darkness, we couldn't even see our own fingers! Couldn't see each other, but we managed a toast, haha! We had to feel to use the cutlery, feel to pick up food, feel to refill our drinks...was just an awesome experience. And when your visual sense is taken away it is indeed true that your other senses become more sensitive. It was quite funny how we guessed what we were eating and sounding so confident of what it was until we finally saw the menu when we were done. Not bad really, we had 4 types of starter, 3 types of main course and 5 types of desserts...and finished with a hot drink!

According to Joel, this experience symbolizes the new and exciting up and coming big event in our lives next year! Happy 4th anniversary to us! :)

Along the lines of excitement, just before dinner my parents and Joel accompanied me on a mission to find THE dress! Out of the many (about 21 pieces in total) pieces that I have tried on from London, to LA, PJ to KL, we think we have finally found THE one! :) To my pleasant surprise, it is totally different to the one I had in my mind. I had always eliminated the style of this particular silhouette, thinking it will never flatter my vitals. Oh boy was I wrong! I felt like a priceless princess and I then knew I'be found the dress to be married in! :) (it's year to our big day and I hope I will not change my mind about the dress...).

One year from today...

Making one of the most important announcements in our lives...

One year from today, the 20th of September 2014 I will be married to the love of my life, the most wonderful man I've ever met, with the most caring of heart, the most generous of spirit, the greatest of character! I cannot express how wonderfully grateful I am to have met him.

Our courtship began within the walls of our graduate school, and from here flourished from friends to companion for life. I have since gotten so used to having him as part of my life that I cannot imagine my life without him. He truly is my best friend.

Nine months ago, on 20th December 2012, the sweetest of words flowed out of his mouth as he courageously popped the question with a beautiful ring. With that, he made me the luckiest girl as I nodded and quickly say "YES!". Today we've been engaged 9 months and we are eagerly excited about our big day!

Like many others we have gone through the hotel/restaurant shopping to find a place we are most comfortable in to give our honored guests the hospitality that reflects us as we gather them to celebrate our special day with us. It took many weeks of searching and looking with help from family and friends, and we have finally decided on The Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

In terms of wedding preparation, we really have not done much. And when I realized yesterday that today will be a year to our wedding, alarms of urgency started ringing in my head. Time flies indeed! We have been so overwhelmed by the many ideas of wedding themes and what nots that we have not really decided on anything other than a date, a venue and a photographer!

Guess time really flies when we are having fun! We have since tried on a few gowns, looked at a few pairs of shoes but really have not decided on any. Now that we are 9 months to having our pre wedding photographs taken, I guess we better be deciding on something.

Anyway, that's all the update for now...! *so excited  that my heart and my tummy are tickling each other!*
